Axiom Maths nominations form

This form is for teachers to nominate students for the online Axiom Maths Circles.

We are looking for pupils in either Year 7 or 8 (or appropriate equivalent in Scotland and Northern Ireland) in the 24/25 academic year, to start the maths circles in January 2025.

Pupils must live in the UK and attend a state-funded school.

We are looking for pupils who have the heart and head for mathematics. Every year,
30,000 children who were top performers at the end of primary school don’t go on to get top GCSE grades in maths. Half of top performers who were on free school meals aged eleven are no longer top performers by sixteen. Axiom Maths exists to change this. We partner with schools to help every child with the head and heart for maths realise the potential of their power.

We are particularly keen to reach those pupils who would not typically have access to an opportunity like this, such as those eligible for Pupil Premium. Pupils should be high prior attainers as the curriculum is designed to be academically stretching. Consequently, we think the programme is best suited to pupils who score 113 or higher in their KS2 SATs (or 111 if eligible for Pupil Premium).

You can nominate up to 3 non-Pupil Premium pupils in total across both year 7 and year 8 for the programme. There is no cap on the number of Pupil Premium eligible pupils you can nominate. We are only accepting Pupil Premium eligible pupils from selective state schools (e.g. Grammar schools).

Once you have submitted your nominations, Axiom Maths, or one of our partner organisations who deliver maths circles on our behalf, will get in contact with the parents/carers via the details you provide. You must have gained approval from parents/carers to nominate their child and pass on their details before submitting this form.

You can find a template letter to send to parents here.

The data you share will be processed in line with the U.K. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Axiom Maths’ Data Protection Policies, to ensure the highest standards of privacy and security.
